Stereogum is a subscription based music newsletter that uses vertical color bars as a core design element throughout the layout. The color palette, pink, white, and two shades of blue draws from visual cues in music culture. The bars refrence equalizer visuals and sound waves, subtly connecting the design to the idea of rhythm and audio levels. Pink adds energy and pop, while the blues suggest depth and tone, creating a visual representation of how music feels. The use of these bars adds movement to the layout echoing the pulse of the music being covered.
